The American Dental Association recently released a number of guidelines for couples want to keep their mouths healthy. Here are two of the most important tips the ADA shared.

Maintaining regular brushing is important because the bacteria that cause cavities can be spread from one mouth to another. By brushing at least twice a day, as well as flossing once a day, each person can guard against cavities and other oral health problems by keeping their teeth clean.

It’s also important to make sure each person in the relationship has his or her own toothbrush. Cavity-causing bacteria can pass from one person to another if a toothbrush is shared. By keeping an individual toothbrush, each person can minimize the spread of bacteria.
